The
Belleville Police Department currently has 82 police officers
and 15 support personnel. Nearly 200 miles
of streets are patrolled by the uniformed patrol division on a daily
basis. Being a member of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis and
a member
of the Metro East Auto Theft Task Force, the department’s
investigations unit has distinguished itself as dedicated and professional
investigators throughout the Metro-East area.
The members of the Belleville Police Department have demonstrated they
are committed to the continued excellence of performance in law enforcement
and community service. This is evidenced by supplementing a traditional
reactive
style of policing with a more proactive strategy with emphasis on crime
prevention through increased community interaction.
